Trees and the Emerald Ash Bore
The Emerald Ash Borer has been found in South St. Anthony Park. This
is a very destructive beetle that bores into ash trees and destroys
them. Damage from them was discovered last Wednesday in an ash tree
on a residential street in St. Paul by a tree pruning service.
Senator Ellen Anderson is working with other local officials to discuss the discovery of the Emerald Ash
Borer in the Hampden Park/South Saint Anthony Park neighborhood.
The Department of Agriculture has already announced a quarantine on
firewood in Hennepin and Ramsey Counties. Check the Saint Paul Park and Recreation site and the District 10 site for updates.
